Earlier this month, Dominica’s Secret Bay unveiled two new treehouse villas — Ylang Ylang Villas, named for the rare flower that grows at the luxury resort.
The new villas are perched in the treetops and feature plenty of outdoor space, including an open-air kitchen and decks with a hammock sofa, outdoor shower, and private pool.
A dedicated concierge is available to arrange anything from hiking excursions to a one-man jazz concert on your balcony.
Here’s a peek inside the amazing new Ylang Ylang Villas at Secret Bay:
The Ylang Ylang Villa is perched among the trees, with two large decks. One deck has lounge chairs and a private, elevated pool, while the other deck goes underneath the villa and features a hammock sofa for relaxing.
Located on the lower deck, the comfy hammock sofa is perfect for lounging, reading a book, or just taking in the natural environment.
Inside, the villas feature one bedroom and one bathroom and are outfitted with natural wood and tropical colors. Wooden bi-folding doors separate the bedroom from the kitchen and dining area. High ceilings and lots of window maintain a light, airy feel.
The treehouse kitchen is open-air and features modern appliances and granite counter tops. You’ll find everything you need at your fingertips, including a blender, juicer, espresso maker, and even a wine cooler.
Or, take the night off and enlist the resort’s private chef to prepare a meal at the villa. There’s plenty of outdoor seating to enjoy a meal al fresco.
Additional perks of the villas include air conditioning in the bedroom, a state-of-the-art sound system with iPod docking stations, a washer and dryer, a TV and DVD player, and a selection of books, DVDs and board games.
