Actor Leonardo DiCaprio has teamed up with Restorative Hospitality to develop an eco-resort on his private island, Blackadore Caye, in Belize.

The initiative provides a number of green benefits for the small island, which is near the Belize Barrier Reef in the Atlantic Ocean. Restoration plans include replanting mangrove and other native plants, creating an artificial reef to protect marine life, and establishing a large, protected wildlife reserve.

Wellness will be the key focus of the resort, which will have a spa, wellness center, and Deepak Chopra Center for Renewal and Anti-Aging. The resort will also feature green amenities like water purification systems, circadian lighting to support healthy sleep cycles, and advanced air filtration systems to minimize allergens.

The resort’s 68 villas are scheduled to open in 2018.
