The Caribbean’s second Hard Rock resort is coming to the Dominican Republic — but unlike the existing Hard Rock Punta Cana on the same island, this resort won’t be beachfront or all-inclusive. Instead, it will offer a modern and cosmopolitan experience to travelers wishing to visit the island’s capital city, Santo Domingo.

Hard Rock Hotel & Casino Santo Domingo is expected to open in late 2017, and will offer 400 rooms and suites, a 23,000 square foot casino, and a nightclub that opens up to the main pool.

Other perks include the brand’s spa, gym, merchandise shop, and a number of restaurants and bars including a cigar lounge and celebrity-chef specialty restaurant.

The new resort will be close to Santo Domingo’s main shopping center Blue Mall. Guests will also have easy access to historically significant sites, such as the historic Colonial Zone, and the National Aquarium.
