Gansevoort Hotel Group has opened its second Caribbean resort. Gansevoort Playa Imbert is located on a crescent-shaped beach in Puerto Plata, a popular resort destination on the north coast of the Dominican Republic.

The luxury resort has just 48 ocean view suites, including one and two-bedroom lofts, three-bedroom apartments with private pools and large terraces, and four-bedroom penthouses with private rooftop Jacuzzis.

There’s a three-tiered, cascading infinity pool overlooking the beach, plus an adults-only pool.

Additional upscale amenities include Baia Lounge, featuring gourmet Mediterranean specialties and Asian-inspired fare; La Cantina Wine + Cigar Cellar, an underground collection of fine wines and cigars; a spa with a Hammam-style sauna; and a fitness center with meditation and yoga garden.

Other Gansevoort properties include two upscale Manhattan hotels, and a boutique resort in Turks and Caicos.
