Hawks Cay Resort in the Florida Keys is officially reopening August 30, and it’s debuting some fresh new features. The resort, which was heavily damaged by Hurricane Irma last year, has undergone a redesign and added new guest amenities. Among our favorites: the expanded adults-only area and a new fine-dining restaurant.
The adults-only area is centered around the Tranquility Pool, a spot for guests 21 years of age and older. Private cabanas can be reserved online, while beach attendants deliver mojitos and frosé. A full lunch menu is also available from Oasis Cay, a new adults-only poolside bar and grill.
Sixty-One Prime is the new fine-dining restaurant opening at Hawks Cay, featuring a selection of locally caught fish, lobster and of course, beef — including filet mignon with charred shishito peppers. The restaurant will also offer private romantic dining around the resort’s Saltwater Lagoon.
The resort also adds Hawks Cay Marketplace to its dining roster – the perfect spot to grab a salad, pizza or panini. There are grab and go options as well as dine-in, casual seating.
A destination in itself, Hawks Cay is located halfway down the Florida Key chain, on the tiny island of Duck Key. Consisting of five different villages with rooms ranging from the standard hotel variety to two-story villas with private boat docks, Hawks Cay is a resort that appeals to all travelers.
