How do you turn a regular beach resort into a cool Margaritaville resort? Add a giant, 12-foot flip-flop sculpture to the lobby and offer License To Chill Margaritas at the swim-up pool bar!
These are just a few upgrades that Margaritaville Beach Resort Playa Flamingo underwent during its renovation and soft opening this past fall. The resort, located along Flamingo Beach in the Guanacaste area of Costa Rica officially opens in 2019.
In addition to a new modern design, the resort has focused on catering to families, with new family suites with bunk beds, a covered children’s pool, and special activities just for kids.
Margaritaville Beach Resort Playa Flamingo also has new restaurants and bars, including:
Banana Wind Café, with locally-inspired dishes for breakfast, lunch and dinner, as well as frozen concoctions.
License to Chill Bar, the new rendition of the resort’s famous swim-up pool bar, will now offer an extended menu for lunch, snacks and a variety of light bites along with its signature cocktails, beer, wine and other beverages. A new pool deck provides extra seating.
5 o’Clock Somewhere Bar & Grill, serving up beach favorites such as burgers, tacos, seafood dishes and signature cocktails along with views of the Pacific Ocean. A stage will feature live entertainment multiple nights each week, and multiple large screen TV’s will keep guests up-to-date with all of their favorite sports.
Capriccio’s Pizza Bistro & Café, the resort’s classic restaurant overlooking the pool, will serve gourmet pizzas, pastas and salads.
The resort has a total of three pools – one with the License to Chill swim-up bar, one for kids, and an activity pool with a volleyball net.
Other amenities at the resort include a spa, lighted tennis courts, a water sports center, and a concierge for booking tours and activities around Costa Rica.
Margaritaville Beach Resort Playa Flamingo also offers space for weddings, vow renewals and small corporate meetings.
