The Dominican Republic is getting a major new resort this fall. Located in upscale Cap Cana just 15 minutes from the Punta Cana airport, Margaritaville Island Reserve Cap Cana will feature 228 suites, 40 villas with private pools, and an entertainment village with a theater and 10 colorful restaurants and bars.
The forces behind this luxe new resort include Karisma Hotels & Resorts, known for stunning resorts throughout the Caribbean and Mexico, and Margaritaville, the global brand inspired by Jimmy Buffet’s easy going lifestyle. It’s the second partnership for these brands, following the success of Margaritaville Island Reserve Riviera Maya in Mexico.
Perks of the new all-inclusive resort include 13 luxury room types, including swim-up suites and honeymoon suites with customized in-room refreshment centers and 24-hour in-room dining.
The resort’s signature villas have exclusive access to a lagoon pool with swim-up bar and hanging beds for lounging. Each luxury villa also features a king-size bed, kitchenette, breakfast bar, living room, and outdoor terrace offering either a private pool or direct access to the lagoon pool.
There’s even a Jimmy Buffett Suite overlooking the Caribbean from the top floor of the main guest building! This suite comes complete with an expansive terrace and a custom-built grill for private dining.
Guests can dine at Frank & Lola’s Italian Trattoria, The Boat House, JWB Steakhouse, Mon So Wi, and Landshark Smokehouse & Brewery — the first restaurant of its kind outside the mainland U.S.
Five bars allow guests to slip right into a Margaritaville state of mind, with options ranging from Rum Runners to the 5 o’Clock Somewhere Swim Up Bar – the perfect spot for a frozen margarita!
Additional highlights of Margaritaville Island Reserve Cap Cana include a theater with daily entertainment and tropical music, an infinity pool, a spa and a kids’ club.
Margaritaville Island Reserve Cap Cana is slated to open in October 2021. For more information, visit the resort’s website.
