The Mayan Riviera resort also gets a new restaurant and updated décor.

Riu Lupita in Playa del Carmen, Mexico has reopened following a 5.5 million dollar renovation, which included the conversion to a 24-hour all-inclusive resort.

Notable resort upgrades include a modernized lobby, the addition of a poolside bar, enlarged bathrooms with walk-in showers, and a new dining option – the Dante Italian restaurant, which is a snack bar by day and offers an a la carte menu in the evening.

The resort’s mexican restaurant, María Bonita also received updates, including the addition of air conditioning for hot summer months.

Riu Lupita is located near the shopping district of Playa del Carmen, and offers two freshwater pools, a spa, four restaurants, a disco, and a free shuttle to the beach.
