Sandals and Beaches resorts are reopening this June with an extensive health and safety plan that includes social distancing and lots of hand sanitizer!

We especially appreciate the ability to check-in online and skip the front desk altogether. Don’t worry – the famous Sandals’ welcome cocktail still awaits guests in their suites, along with personal anti-bacterial hand towels and individual in-room hand sanitizers.

This is just one of several new protocols enacted by the all-inclusive resort company. Dubbed the Sandals Platinum Protocols of Cleanliness, new and enhanced measures amidst COVID-19 include:

All-Encompassing Eighteen Touch Point Practice
In a nutshell: They know everything you touched, and they are cleaning it all.

Sandals has completed an assessment of all points of guest contact, resulting in the integration of advanced hygiene practices across airport lounges, guest rooms, elevators, pools and hot tubs, spas, guest rooms, water parks at Beaches resorts, and more.

Enhanced Triple-Check System for Cleaning and Sanitation
In a nutshell: They are inspecting and cleaning items multiple times per day, and anything you are handed has been sanitized!

All resorts are diligently cleaned and sanitized on an ongoing basis, with a Triple-Check system and a minimum of three inspections daily. Any items that guests will come in contact with – from room cards to welcome cocktails glassware – are sanitized before distribution, and hand sanitizing stations will be provided for guests and team members throughout the resorts.

New Certified Sandals Sanitized Guest Rooms
In a nutshell: Guest rooms will be super sanitized — we’d like to request this as a permanent change at every resort!

Sandals will implement new housekeeping measures including hospital-grade disinfectants, electrical aerosol sprayers for advanced cleaning, the use of UV-LED lighting equipment to inspect cleanliness, air duct sanitization for each arrival and upon each departure, weekly steam-cleaning of carpeting and more.

Social Distancing Practices
In a nutshell: We are pros at this now — maintain a social distance whenever possible!

Sandals is exploring new ways for guests to practice social distancing while traveling, including more frequent airport transfers with fewer guests per vehicle; setting up a safe social distance across restaurants, bars and beaches; and limiting elevator trips to one couple per trip at Sandals Resorts and one family per trip at Beaches Resorts.

Team Member Training and Precautionary Temperature Checks
In a nutshell: Sandals employees are trained on these protocols and are healthy themselves.

Sandals is ensuring all team members stay healthy both inside and outside the workplace with ongoing training on precautionary measures geared toward preventative protocols and added sanitation practices.

All staff will be required to know where the nearest hand sanitizer stations are located at all times, wear protective face gear and gloves at all times when on resort, and ensure uniforms are not worn during travel to and from work.

All team members across resort locations will also undergo temperature checks before the start of each shift, in addition to stringent medical clearance.

Supplier-held Standards
In a nutshell: Companies doing business with Sandals are also held to these protocols.

All vendors, suppliers and partners will be held to these new Sandals Platinum Protocols of Cleanliness standards, and deliveries will be limited to one party at a time. All outer packing will be removed upon arrival.

Most Sandals resorts plan on reopening the first week of June; resorts located in the Bahamas will open later in the month.
