The pool at the former Riu St. Martin was the largest in the Caribbean.

An all-inclusive Secrets Resort & Spa is opening on the island of St. Martin in the Caribbean. The resort will be located at the site of the former Riu St. Martin in Anse Marcel, on the north side of the island.

The Riu St. Martin closed permanently in 2017 following damage from Hurricane Irma. The property will undergo a $20 million renovation designed by Luis Pons before re-opening in 2019 under the Secrets brand.

The new resort will cater to adults only and will offer guests a rooftop pool and swim-out suites. Features that guests loved about the Riu – a private enclave with views of Anguilla and the largest pool in the Caribbean will remain in place.

Additional upgrades will include Secrets’ Unlimited-Luxury® concept, where everything is included. This includes rooms and suites with 24-hour concierge service, a variety of restaurants and bars, and plenty of activities.
