Sandals unveiled a sneak peek of its newest resort: Sandals Barbados, scheduled to open Jan. 28, 2015. The resort is opening on Dover Beach at the site of the former Almond Casuarina (the property was also shortly operated by Couples Barbados before being purchased by Sandals).
Highlights of the new resort include:
Wrap around balcony suites with soaking tubs
These one-bedroom butler suites in the Ocean Village section of the resort have ocean views, four-poster king beds, dual-control walk-in showers, and claw foot tubs. Since these are end units located on the east and west ends of the village, they have wrap around windows and balconies, complete with exterior soaking tubs and chaise lounges.
Crystal Lagoon swim-up suites
The popular swim-up suites are back, this time offering zero-entry access to the Crystal Lagoon pool – the longest in Barbados. These first-floor suites have private bedrooms with four-poster king beds, large living rooms, and patios with tubs and direct access to the lagoon.
Sandals’ first Indian restaurant
The resort will have 11 different restaurants and cafes, including Butch’s Chophouse, which recently debuted in Grenada, and the traditional favorites like Kimonos, Dino’s Pizzeria, and a British pub. A new and exciting addition will be the Bombay Club, serving traditional Indian dishes like lamb samosas, chicken tiika, vegetable pakora and fried milk donuts.
