Manicou River Resort is a collection of hand-crafted wooden cottages perched among the trees on a mountainside overlooking the Caribbean Sea on the northwest coast of Dominica. Tantane Beach is a five-minute drive away.
The resort is off-the-grid, meaning all plumbing is rainwater and electricity is solar-powered.
Cottages have balconies with hammocks, handmade furniture, and mosquito nets. Each cottage has a well-equipped kitchen with a small refrigerator and gas stove.
There is a bar and bistro onsite, serving breakfast and dinner. The bar opens at 5:30.
Manicou River Resort can arrange a variety of activities, including hiking tours, snorkeling, scuba and more. Yoga classes are offered at the resort.
How to get to Manicou River Resort
Fly into Douglas-Charles Airport (DOM), formerly known as Melville Hall. Manicou River Resort is located about an hour from the airport, and can only be accessed by a 4×4 vehicle due to its mountainside location.
