New rooms, including swim-out suites

The resort has 447 suites, each with either a balcony or terrace and great views of the ocean or jungle. Amenities include private Jacuzzi, 24-hour room service and a daily refreshed mini-bar. Connecting rooms are available by request, perfect for families and larger groups traveling together.

Preferred Club suites offer additional amenities like personalized check-in and checkout with concierge service, a private lounge with snacks and cocktails, and a private beach area. Master suites even come equipped with small refrigerators and microwaves.

Dreams Las Mareas Costa Rica will also debut the only swim-out suites in the Guanacaste region. The suites – available for both standard and preferred categories – have private, furnished terraces with direct access to the pool.

Largest pool in the region

The resort has two pools, including a 44,000 sq. ft. swimming pool, currently the largest in the Guanacaste resort region. Adults can enjoy a tropical drink at Manatees Swim-Up Bar, while kids play on La Cascada, the resort’s water slide. Pool and beach wait service is available.

No dining reservations required

Dreams Las Mareas Costa Rica has eight restaurants: five a la carte specialty restaurants, a buffet, a beach grill and a cafe. Reservations aren’t required, although like many all-inclusive resorts, restaurant openings will rotate throughout the week based on occupancy.

Specialty restaurants include: El Patio, serving a fusion of trendy tapas and Mexican fare; Himitsu, offering Pan-Asian cuisine with a sushi bar and teppanyaki tables; Oceana, the seaside restaurant featuring fresh seafood dishes; Portofino for Italian dining; and Seaside Grill, serving tropical drinks and island-style specialties.

Large spa with hydrotherapy treatments

Dreams Spa by Pevonia spans 16,600 sq. ft. and includes 10 indoor/outdoor treatment rooms, a bridal suite, a spa bar, and a hydrotherapy room complete with sauna, steam room, pressure shower, waterfall showers, and more.

Massages, body treatments, facials, manicures, pedicures and a full service beauty salon are all available, as well as packages that combine hydrotherapy and indigenous treatments.

The surrounding local culture

There are lots of great attractions in the Guanacaste region and surrounding area. Guests can easily arrange for tours and excursions through the resort’s concierge. Options for thrill-seekers include horseback riding through the forests, whitewater rafting on bubbling rapids, and zip lining through a thick jungle canopy. There are also ATV sightseeing tours, national park tours and hikes, visits to several of the region’s hot springs, and a trip to the popular Rincon de la Vieja volcano area.

Visitors can even cross the border into Nicaragua to explore the country’s colonial houses and buildings, take a tour to both active and dormant volcanoes, and enjoy a Nicaraguan-style lunch.
